Seven of Hearts is written in 7-4 time and has a slightly latin feel. It has a very strong and enjoyable melody. This is a great piece for a more advanced jazz band

Fire Lane
Fire Lane is a minor blues variant that has the tonality of a 1960s television theme. The melody occasionally goes outside the changes with refreshing interval leaps. Fun to play.

Billiard Sunners
Billiard Sunners is a bossa nova written primarily in a whole tone scale. The melody is modern and mysterious. There is a great opportunity for a talented trumpet player to shine.

Smoke and Mirrors
Smoke and Mirrors is written in the style of film noir theme music. It features and extended solo for a trumpet with a harmon mute. It is fairly easy to play and a lot of fun.

The Third Rail
The Third Rail swings hard. It is based on a 24 bar variation of a minor blues with sus4 chords coming into play. The piece contains a great deal of lively section work.

Time and Time Again
Time and Time Again has two melodies that play off each other. It swings hard at a crisp pace.

Quiet Steps
Quiet Steps is light and breezy. It features the trombone section playing staccato quarter notes laying the foundation for the sax section playing the melody. The second trumpet is given space for soloing. It is an easy and fun chart to play.

Needlepoint
Like Quiet Steps, Needlepoint is a light and breezy chart featuring staccato quarter notes. There is a terrific sax soli and plenty of room for soloing.

Frogtown Day Camp
Frogtown Day Camp is a fast, swinging blues in 3/4 time. There is opportunity for each section of the band to have its moment in the sun.

Sunny Side Blues
Sunny Side Blues is a 16 bar slow cooked barbecue blues. Although the arrangement features odd angles and interval jumps, it is fairly easy to play and easily within instrument registers.

Out Of The Question
Out Of The Question is a rock tune reminiscent of the television theme songs from the 1960s. It features a really strong rhythm section which creates the driving energy behind this piece.

And All Our Yesterdays
And All Our Yesterdays features a slow, haunting melody in a minor key. A strong lead trumpet player has plenty of room to wander around and explore various themes and moods.
